The varsity girls softball team lost a game to Pacifica Thursday 11-3 and were shut out by Oaks Christian Friday 10-0. Pacifica scored in every inning except for the fifth when Santa Paula got two of their three runs.“It was a very frustrating game,” said Coach Henry Jacinto. “We walked way too many batter and made three errors at critical moments that hurt us yet we made several really good plays on defense.”Talisa Garcia hit 2-3 with one RBI, Nicole Sliger went 1-3 with an RBI and Kaitlyn Heinz went 1-2 with one run.Oaks Christian was working on a no-hitter until Kaitlyn Heinz broke it up with a line drive in seventh inning.
“Oaks is an excellent team but we played well against them,” said Jacinto. “They had some nice hits when they needed them. We only made a few mistakes but it was a nice effort against the number one team in CIF Division III.”The girls play at Santa Clara Friday at 3:30 p.m.
