An illegal immigrant, Atilano-Millan was arraigned on charges of suspicion of harboring and transporting illegal aliens in a Los Angeles federal court on June 9.The infant has been placed in a foster home and ICE agents are working with Mexican authorities to locate her parents according to Mack.It is not known if the infant was being taken to Santa Paula, Mack added.The house where the raid occurred is located at the corner of Foothill Drive in an area of upper scale homes.“There had been some talk about what was going on over there, so many people in and out, but as far as I know no one called the police,” said the area resident who asked to remain anonymous. “I know I didn’t call it in. They all kept pretty much to themselves...”Authorities are still investigating whether or not the house was the ultimate destination of the smuggled aliens or if it was a drop house where they would be left for a short period of time before being moved to other locations.The six Mexican nationals arrested with Atilano-Millan - who authorities believe had been smuggled into the country and taken to the San Miguel home - have been processed for deportation.

According to one neighborhood resident, some believed that the home on the 400 block of San Miguel Way overlooking the Santa Clara River Valley was the scene of drug dealing, with people believed to be customers or smugglers coming and going all the time.
By Peggy KellySanta Paula TimesAccording to one neighborhood resident, some believed that the home on the 400 block of San Miguel Way overlooking the Santa Clara River Valley was the scene of drug dealing, with people believed to be customers or smugglers coming and going all the time.But after a multi-agency task force arrested a woman on June 6 area residents learned that although smuggling was taking place at the house, it was trafficking in humans and not narcotics.The woman arrested, Eugenia Atilano-Millan, 29, a Mexican national, was apprehended after Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from San Diego issued a warrant according to an ICE spokeswoman, who noted that Atilano-Millan was poised to receive a 10-month-old Mexican girl.Six other Mexican nationals were also arrested along with the alleged member of a smuggling ring that authorities believe also included the two people - Luis Hernandez-Martinez and Julie Ann Coss - who were allegedly delivering the baby.Hernandez--Martinez and Coss, who had the baby with them, were arrested June 6 in San Diego.Atilano-Millan was found hiding under a blanket in the garage according to ICE San Diego spokeswoman Lauren Mack who noted that the investigation into the smuggling ring is ongoing.
