Volunteers sought for “Day of Caring”

United Way of Ventura County invites the community to participate in its 17th Annual Day of Caring on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 from 9 a.m. - noon.

United Way of Ventura County invites the community to participate in its 17th Annual Day of Caring on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 from 9 a.m. - noon. This event is an opportunity for individuals and teams to roll up their sleeves to complete meaningful volunteer projects. Day of Caring participants may be involved with projects such as washing vehicles, sorting and packing canned goods, light landscaping, and more.All volunteers will receive a Day of Caring T-shirt for their participation and are invited to attend a free breakfast the same morning of Day of Caring from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. at the United Way located at 1317 Del Norte Road in Camarillo.Day of Caring project sites are available throughout Ventura County:Oxnard - FOOD Share, Inc., Many Motors, El Concilio del Condado de Ventura, Habitat for Humanity, United Blood Services (at the FOOD Share location in Oxnard) and Prototypes Woman’s CenterSimi Valley - Samaritan CenterCamarillo - RAIN Transitional Living Center and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Ventura CountyThousand Oaks/Newbury Park - Many Mansions and Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship
