An outstanding array of gifts from more than 20 vendors will be available for early holiday shopping at The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura’s annual holiday gift boutique to be held in conjunction with its 15th Anniversary Holiday Homes Tour. The boutique is scheduled for two days only from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2-3, at Willow Elementary School, 29026 Laro Dr., Agoura Hills.“This is a fun event and a great way to support our community. We have a wonderful selection of items for everyone on your holiday shopping list-from hand-knitted baby blankets and sweaters made by The Wellness Community’s Knotty Knitters group, to lapis and opal custom-designed jewelry by local artisans,” said event chair Sherry Stern.Twenty percent of all boutique sales go to The Wellness Community and 100 percent of the sales from the knitting group’s contributions will fund free programs of support, education and hope for people fighting cancer and for their friends and families. The boutique will offer one-stop-shopping for people of every age and interest. There will be geodes and fine display stones as well as sculpted animal figurines and garden art fashioned by area metal sculptors. Home décor will include antiques, picture frames crafted from antique glazed ceramic tiles and elegant designer pillows. The fashion conscious shopper can choose from beaded handbags and cashmere scarves and contemporary t-shirts, pants, jackets and more.
The holiday boutique is free of charge and open to all. Shoppers can purchase Holiday Homes Tour tickets on site for $25, enjoy visits to four distinguished Conejo Valley homes, elaborately decorated for the season, and return to Willow Elementary for a few last minute purchases. A light breakfast and lunch can be purchased from the D’Amore Pizza van and tour-goers can turn in their ticket stubs at the boutique, to see if they are one of the lucky winners of a $100 cash prize to be awarded on site. The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura is the local chapter of the international, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to men and women affected by cancer. Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops, nutrition and exercise programs, and mind/body classes, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of their disease. Today, there are 22 Wellness Communities across the United States, five in development, 28 satellites, two centers abroad in Tokyo and Tel Aviv, and a community online at The Virtual Wellness Community.
