Gomez said the team might play in a couple of tournaments before the summer is over. He’s also looking at participating in a fall league.
Santa Paula American Legion Team ends season with great record

The Santa Paula Cardinal American Legion baseball team wrapped up regular season play with a 14-4-2 record.
The team competed this past weekend in a double elimination tournament. They lost to Buena 8-3 in the first game. Alan Gwynn went 1-2 with a home run and 1 RBI. Aaron Gomez was 1-2 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Gabriel Herrera was 1-2 with a single.In the second game Santa Paula lost a close game to Ventura 5-4. Gomez went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s. Gwynn went 1-4 with 1 RBI, Sal Ibarra was 1-4 with 1 RBI and Chad Marinos went 1-2. Gwynn pitched the entire game for Santa Paula.“The kids played great the whole season,” said Coach Chris Gomez. “I believe they’re the favorites for the Frontier League Championship. They competed with larger schools this summer and did well.”
