Cardinal varsity losses steam and drops game to Golden Valley 39-36

The Cardinal varsity takes on Bishop Diego tonight at Santa Barbara City College. This is Santa Paula’s next-to-last non-league game. They lost last week against Golden Valley in a game most thought they should have won.“We felt as if we beat ourselves last Friday night,” said Coach Teohua Sanchez. “We need to eliminate costly penalties, penalties negated several key plays. It has been the second week in a row that the offense has not scored in the third quarter. We play great in the first half in games but we need to understand that football games are 4 quarters. The student-athletes are working hard and are looking to bounce back this week against a quality opponent in Bishop Diego.”
