The public is invited to attend “A Victorian Christmas,” which will be presented at the First Christian Church of Santa Paula, Sunday, December 14th, at 2 pm.

The public is invited to attend “A Victorian Christmas,” which will be presented at the First Christian Church of Santa Paula, Sunday, December 14th, at 2 pm. The performance is free.This celebration of Advent and Christmas will be presented in the custom of the Victorian Era, with participants dressed in clothing from the 1860s to the 1900s.The program includes the lighting of Advent candles, and a pantomime appearance of the Angel of the Annunciation (in a gold, crushed-velvet aesthetic dress), and several other Christmas settings. The Christmas Story from the Book of Luke, will be read to a special medley of Christmas Carols.It’s also rumored that flying angels will be part of the Live Nativity.Mick and Holley Gene Leffler will share their piano and organ music as a backdrop to the Christmas vignettes. Holley Gene is also the costumer who made all the Victorian clothing (see www.holleygene.com).Rev. Dr. Philip McKinley will share Victorian traditions, and give a Christmas Blessing. The program will end with the singing of “Silent Night” in a special setting.
