Fillmore Varsity Girls’ Basketball Tournament results

In the second game, Santa Paula took down Thacher 44-36. Nancy Roman had 15 points and 8 rebounds, Danya Zizumbo had 9 points. Lanejia Delgadillo had 6 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Poor shooting (1 or 14 from the free throw line) and a sluggish start lead to a close game. The half time score was Thacher 19 and Santa Paula 15, but the Lady Cardinals picked up the defense in the third quarter and with Nancy Roman’s unstoppable scoring (8 points) the game swung in favor of the Cards and they were able to maintain a 8-10 point lead the rest of the way. In the first game of the Tournament Fillmore beat the Lady Cards 75-32.In their next game Santa Paula beat Paraclete, 49-24. Highlights: Santa Paula - Lanejia Delgadillo scored 17 points.
