Residential cart rates will depend on the size of the receptacles: for those sticking with the set ups - Crown’s 95-gallon cart is one gallon smaller than existing service - the cost is $24.69 a month, compared to the city’s $27.50 a month charge. For the medium 65-gallon service, considered standard by Crown, the cart charge is $20.09 a month, and the extra-small 35-gallon service is $15.49 a month. Those residential customers 62-years or older will also receive a 15 percent discount.
Crown will take over services for commercial services June 1 for those now using Consolidated Disposal, and July 1 for customers of E.J. Harrison & Sons, doing business locally as Santa Clara Valley Disposal. As with residential customers, prior to the effective date a Crown representative will be visiting the place of business with information regarding size options, new rates, recycling information, and a schedule to replace existing bins with Crown Disposal receptacles.
The refuse bins and costs will change, but customers will recognize their carriers as Crown is hiring the city’s six-person workforce to take over pickup duties. Questions can be directed to Crown Disposal, 933-0100, or visit the website, www.CrownDisposal.com.
