Charlotte Bouvet-Lara

Charlotte Bouvet-Lara, 68, of Santa Paula, died Saturday, October 29, 2011.

She was born to the late Arturo Delgado Bouvet and Cruz Torres Bouvet, July 2, 1943, in Ray, Arizona. Charlotte graduated from Santa Paula Union High School in 1961.

Charlotte was a patient representative until she retired in 2006 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her patients at the Buenaventura Medical Group. Additionally, she worked as a teacher’s aide and had a lasting and caring bond on the lives of hundreds of children under her care. This caring bond would manifest itself to the present day as these children, now adults, would call out to her and would greet her with hugs.

Charlotte listened to and counseled family and friends throughout her life and she always encouraged everyone to do their best. Although, she never received any prestigious awards in her lifetime, seeing someone she had counseled transform their life was the greatest award for her.

Charlotte was an active member of both Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Sebastian Catholic Churches in Santa Paula. She loved to watch movies and Spanish telenovelas, listen to oldies, and visit with friends. She especially loved her trips to Yosemite.

Charlotte is survived by two sons: Michael Lara and Arnold Lara, of Santa Paula. She is also survived by her siblings: Lydia Mendoza of Ventura, CA, Augustine Bouvet of Sylmar, CA and Albert Louis Bouvet of Chico, CA.

No flowers please. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in memory of Charlotte Bouvet to any one of the following ministries: For the formation of Catholic Priests - Canons Regular of the Immaculate Conception, 984 Monte Vista Dr., Santa Paula, CA 93060; Saint Sebastian School, 325 E. Santa Barbara St., Santa Paula, CA 93060; Saint Francis of Assisi Religious Education, 1048 W. Ventura St., Fillmore, CA 93015.

Safely Home

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty

In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,

Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,

Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly

Trod the valley of the shade?

Oh! but Jesus’ love illumined

Every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me

In that way so hard to tread;

And with Jesus’ arm to lean on,

Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,

For I love you dearly still;

Try to look beyond earth’s shadows,

Pray to trust our Father’s Will.

There is work still waiting for you,

So you must not idly stand;

Do it now, while life remaineth –

You shall rest in Jesus’ land.

When that work is all completed,

He will gently call you Home;

Oh, the rapture of that meeting,

Oh, the joy to see you come!
