Cardinals take part in Rio Mesa tournament

The Cardinal football team competed in the annual Rio Mesa High School passing and hogs tournament this past weekend.
Coach Teohua Sanchez said he was extremely please on how well the players competed. “We were in all the games throughout the day. Our lineman also competed in the annual hits tournament. Overall, it was a great day for our program. We have played 16 passing league games in less then 2 weeks,” he said.
The Valencia Vikings participated in the hogs competition for the first time, winning six of the nine events. Besides the passing competition, the day included the tug-of-war event and a truck pull and tire push.
