To help alleviate the temporary- water situation each of the four sites have large Igloo water containers with cold water and paper cups. For the restrooms, new Portosan units have been brought in to serve the students for the short term needed.It is expected that construction will be completed within the month of September. Many of the projects currently needed are scheduled be done after school is out for the day, and on weekends.

The Santa Paula Elementary School District was pushing to complete the extensive remodeling projects taking place during the summer at Grace Thille, Glen City, Blanchard, and Barbara Webster elementary schools by the first day of school. However, as in any renovation project, it is difficult to tell exactly what is needed until the job is well underway.

However, as in any renovation project, it is difficult to tell exactly what is needed until the job is well underway.District administration and the contractors strongly felt it was not prudent to ignore major problems found once it was established the repair was badly needed. Doing so would ultimately cost more to go back in and do the work later.Stepping up the construction pace, District maintenance, and custodians have been working long hours, side-by-side to get the campuses ready to open. Once the District realized that the projects could not be completely finished a priority for student safety and instructional environment would be the driving force. On the first day of school the classrooms were in crisp, clean condition and ready for the students.Drinking fountains and restrooms have played a major part in the items not completed.
