High school board honors long-time volunteers

The Santa Paula Union High School District Board of Trustees honored two long-time volunteers at the high school at this month’s meeting. Cecil Preciado and Ken Ary were presented plaques for their years of service to the school. Cecil is especially known for his years of taking photos at athletic events and sharing the pictures with the students.Principal Tony Gaitan had high praise for Preciado. “Mr. Preciado is one of the friendliest and warmest booster fans at Santa Paula High School,” he said. “He’s always around to volunteer, advise and provide us with information.”Preciado is a 1948 graduate of Santa Paula High. He says he’s enjoyed his time volunteering at the school. “It’s a privilege to be around the youngsters,” Preciado said.Ary is probably best known for selling 50-50 raffle tickets at SPHS football games.
Gaitan said that Ary had raised thousands of dollars for the students. “I can’t say more than to thank him for the volunteer time he’s given our students ,” Gaitan added.
