Educational outing offered to school-aged children

Students can learn while having fun by participating in school tours offered by Faulkner Farm in Santa Paula. The school tours feature a lesson in pumpkin growing, a tour through the farm’s famous sunflower forest, hayrides around the farm and a visit with farm animals. In addition, each student will choose his or her own pumpkin to take home, and receive a souvenir pumpkin story coloring book and a pumpkin sticker.Tours are available by reservation Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the month of October. The cost is $3.75 per student and $2.75 per adult. This program is geared toward preschool to second grade students. The minimum group size is 10 students.Faulkner Farm is located at the Hansen Agricultural Learning Center, 14292 W. Telegraph Rd. in Santa Paula, just off Highway 126 at Briggs Road. The Pumpkin Patch is open daily to the public from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., October 1 through 31.
