The second concert of the Santa Paula Concert Series, “Singing Strings,” will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Universalist Unitarian Church, a Ventura County landmark located at 740 E. Main Street, Santa Paula.

The second concert of the Santa Paula Concert Series, “Singing Strings,” will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Universalist Unitarian Church, a Ventura County landmark located at 740 E. Main Street, Santa Paula.The Dolce Far Niente String Trio will perform trios and duos for violin and viola from their “classical” repertoire. Under the music direction of Mariana Franco-Sommer, players are Michelina Wright, Julissa Bozman and Alex Bozman.Michelina Wright received her master’s degree in music performance at the California Institute of the Arts in 2002, where she was active in various ensembles including the New Millennium Players. She has played with the Debut Young Musicians Orchestra, with whom she performed in the Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2004 and 2005 under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.Julissa Bozman holds a Master’s degree in music from the University of California at Irvine. Her band ‘Cusuco’ was awarded a City of Los Angeles grant in 2002, and an LA County grant in 2003.
Alex Bozman composes, plays the cello, and teaches music.The Universalist Unitarian Church of Santa Paula has been home to a number of musical events throughout its 112-year-old history. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the church’s Stained Glass Window Restoration Project. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased at the John Nichols Gallery at 916 E.
