Returning to Santa Paula, Virginia went back to work for the Limoneira and McKevett companies. She continues as the personal secretary for the Teague family.When the Alumni Association was formed n 1982, Virginia accepted the responsibility of Class Correspondent for the Class of 1944, and she continues this job for the Association. She has been a great asset to the Association, and continues to assist when needed.Persons interested in attending the banquet on September 24 must get reservations in before Saturday, September 17. The Santa Paula Union High School Alumni Association is holding their annual banquet at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel on Saturday, September 24.
The Santa Paula Union High School Alumni Association is holding their annual banquet at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel on Saturday, September 24. All members of the Association, and all classmates of the classes ending in the years of 0 and 5 whose addresses we have, have been mailed invitations.At this banquet we are honoring an outstanding alumna, Virginia Faudree Bougas, Class of 1944. Virginia, a native Santa Paulan, was educated in our local schools and was active in the Camp Fire Girls as a child. In high school, she was active in the Girls Athletic Association and president of the Girls League.Following high school, Virginia worked as an executive secretary for the Boy Scouts of America, and later for Limoneira Company, the McKevett Corp., the Teague-McKevett Co., the Tapo Oil Company, and the Sisar Mutual Water Company. She also served as a director and treasurer for the Santa Paula Community Fund and as director and secretary for the Limoneira Federal Credit Union.Virginia was the 1946 Santa Paula Rodeo Queen, earning the title with her horseback riding skills. In 1951 she moved to Durango, Colorado, where she met her husband to be Jim Bougas, and had the thrill of doubling for Janet Leigh in the MGM movie The Naked Spur, starring Janet and Jimmy Stewart.
