All Santa Paulans are invited to join together for a Unity Walk as a show of support for our community, and in memory of recent victims of crime in our city. The Unity Walk is scheduled for Holy Thursday, April 17th at 6pm.

The Unity Walk has been organized by the Santa Paula Police Officers Association together in collaboration with the Santa Paula Ministerial Association. "There has been an outpouring of support and resolve from everyone throughout the city" in response to the two recent homicides, explained Officer Jimmy Fogata. "We wanted to have an answer when residents are asking us: what can I do to help?"

"With Easter approaching, the message of 'love thy neighbor' seems very appropriate for our city," states Rev. Al Guilin. Rev. Jenny Crosswhite emphatically shares her view since moving to Santa Paula: "I have been saying that it's not until people get out of their buildings, their homes, their work, and come together in the public square and say "enough is enough" that things will begin to change."

While its focus is on community, concern and respect for neighbors and families throughout Santa Paula, the Unity Walk will also provide an opportunity for those interested to offer donations to benefit the victims' families. Donations can be made through the Santa Paula Police Officers Association via checks made payable to the Human Progress Foundation, a 501c3.

The Unity Walk will start at 6pm from the Police Officers Memorial located at the corner of Santa Barbara and Mill Streets, and conclude with a candle lighting memorial at 6:30 pm at Veterans Park.
