Shirley Mae Whipkey-McCalister
Shirley Mae Whipkey-McCalister a resident of Santa Paula passed away on Friday, October 24th. Shirley went to be with her Lord peacefully while at home after a long illness. The last day of her long life she was surrounded by her husband, most of her children, and many of the people who lovingly cared for her during the last few years of her life.
Shirley was born in Wichita, KS on June 10, 1931. She was a long time resident of Santa Paula graduating from Santa Paula High School in 1950. She was preceded in death by her husband Marlin Whipkey; parents Francis Marion, & Jessie Pearl Scott; and her siblings Otis Scott, Earl Scott, Peggy Petri, & Lois Petri. She is survived by her husband Raymond McCalister and her sister Emalene Morisoli of Santa Paula; her children Lois Lucier, Cheryl Davis, Patricia Schmidt, Carolyn Brister, & Thomas McDeall, 14 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great, Great Grandchild all from Texas. A Memorial service was held at the Santa Paula Church of Christ on Monday evening. A private burial will be held later in the week.
