A set of pricy golf clubs is looking for its owner, according to a Ventura County Sheriff’s Detective.

According to VCSD Detective Gunnar Dike, special enforcement detail detectives are trying to find the owner of the possible stolen property, several golf clubs and a bag that were recently recovered during an investigation.

“This set of Taylor Made golf clubs are suspected as being stolen property,” although the timeframe of when or for that matter from where the sports equipment was stolen is not known.

With Taylor Made irons starting at about $1,000 each Dike said he believes the recovered property was expensive but their present value is hard to gauge “based on not knowing how old the clubs are.”

The set recovered includes: driver, two #3 wood drivers, as well as #4 and #5 wood drivers, a putter, #5 through #9 irons, pitching wedge, as well as one 52-degree and one 56-degree loft wedge.

“The bag,” said Dike, “is also Taylor Made brand and contains miscellaneous golf items.”

There is not much chance that the clubs and bag belong to the person arrested on the allegations of theft: “From the information gathered during the investigation,” said Dike, “I do not believe this person is now or was a golfer.”

Dike said any help in identifying the owner of these clubs, or details on when and where they were taken is appreciated.
