Mildred ‘Millie’ Korth

Millie was born on June 9, 1932 in Michigan.  She passed away on April 8, 2015 surrounded  by her loving family.  She dealt calmly and courageously with a number of health issues over the past year.

Millie attended Michigan State University where she met the love of her life, William “Bill” Korth.  They married in 1953 and after adding three daughters to their family and a son on the way, they loaded the station wagon and headed to California for the “California dream” first arriving in Santa Barbara where their son Steve was born and then coming to their home in Santa Paula in 1959.

She was employed doing secretarial work at Petoseed Company, Santa Paula Union High school, Abex Aerospace and John Jenkins Christian Academy.  She was a true organizer and record keeper and has documented her family history in the 60+ years of scrapbooks that her family will continue to cherish.

Millie was a woman of tremendous faith totally devoted to our Lord.  She loved to be around her family and friends.  Her love of reading followed her all of her life as well as her love for bridge and her bridge buddies.  She loved to cook and was always reading cookbooks and trying new recipes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Korth; parents, William and May Davison, and sister, Janie Boyle.  Left behind to cherish her memory are her four children, Sandy (John) Glass, Diane McLaughlin, Barbara Hernandez and Steve Korth.  Grandchildren: Kevin (Jessica) Glass, Katie (Ryan) Robar, Lori Segovia, Brandon Washington, Andrew Hernandez, Brian Hernandez, Matthew Vasquez, Emily and Sophie Korth.  Great grandchildren:  Angel, Alex and Rose Segovia, Diego and Dakoda Hernandez with another great grandchild on the way, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Korth.

Dance with the angels Mom and save a place for us, Heaven is truly having a celebration with you there.  A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church located at 121 Davis Street, Santa Paula, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Livingston Memorial Hospice, online at livingstonvna.org or by phone (805) 642-0239.
