held a “Welcome Back” Meeting

The Santa Paula Unified School District held a “Welcome Back” Meeting for the 2015-2016 school year on Monday, August 10 for teachers, administrators, and support staff. To open the meeting, singer and student Nadine Vasquez sung a teacher appreciation song entitled: “You Have Made a Difference” as she was accompanied by Music Resource Specialist, Donna Nelson. SPUSD Superintendent, Alfonso Gamino, introduced the Governing Board members and Board President, Michelle Kolbeck, provided the Welcome Address. During the meeting, the following employees received recognition for their long-term commitment and dedication to Santa Paula schools: Donna Harrison, Cheryl Pazen, and Rosemary Del Rio (25 years) and Tillie Garcia, Valerie Gomez, Irma Gomez, and Terry Marzec (30 years). Motivational speaker Ramsey Jay, Jr., with local ties to the Santa Paula community, was the guest speaker for the meeting. Ivy League educated and Wall Street trained, Jay spoke about his powerful 3P’s methodology (Possible, Probable, and Predictable) to help inspire those in attendance to achieve academic, professional and civic-centered success.Above Assistant Superintendent, Christine Schieferle welcomes teachers
