McKevett School students learn about bike safety

Students at McKevett School Learned about how to ride their bicycles safely in a program put on by the Santa Paula Police Department last week. The children were taught about how to ride safely on the street, what to do at intersections and safety at railroad crossings. SPPD bicycle officers were at the school to teach the kids safety. The officers were: Daniel Gosselin, Mike Hoppin, Eric Burnett and Senior Officer Larry Johnson. (Above) Children lined up with their bikes at one of the stations. Officer Burnett said they are in need of bike helmets to use at the schools. You can make a tax-deductible donation to the Santa Paula Police and Fire Foundation for purchase of the helmets.
