The 15th annual Pismo Run departed Santa Paula last Saturday with over 200 motorcycles. The event started 15 years ago when Gilbert Gomez and his father put together the bike ride with a few friends and family. It’s grown since then, with riders joining them from throughout California and out of state as well. It swells to near 300 riders by the time they reach Pismo. There’s no charge for the riders, except for the annual T-Shirt. The proceeds from that go towards raffle prizes.  Gilbert said it started out as a family fun run and now, “It’s just to give back to the riders.” Father Charles Lueras, the senior pastor at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church blessed the riders and their bikes before the start of the ride.
