Augustine Torres Bouvet (Augie)

Augustine, a longtime resident of Sylmar, California, was born again into eternal life on January 20, 2016 at the age of 69. He passed away peacefully at the VA Medical Center West Los Angeles after a brief illness.    

Augustine, also known as Augie to family and friends, was born on November 09, 1946 to Cruz T. and Arturo D. Bouvet in Santa Paula, California. He was the second oldest of four siblings. Augie graduated from Santa Paula High in 1965 and served in the United States Army until he was discharged honorably on October 7th, 1968. After military service, he worked until retirement at the Sepulveda Veterans Hospital. In retired life, Augie found love and married Marylou.

Augie was a free spirit with a great sense of humor. He spent his free time playing pool casually and competitively, winning several trophies in pool tournaments. He was a weekend fisherman, who enjoyed fishing off the Ventura pier with his wife and friends. During his fishing trips, he always made it a point to visit home and spend time with his father.

Augie is survived by; his sister Lydia B. Mendoza (Everardo) of Ventura, Ca., his brother Albert Bouvet (Alesia) of Chico, Ca. , his nephews Michael and Arnold Lara, Juan and Felipe Mendoza, Adam, Gabriel, and Arthur Bouvet, 8 grandnephews and grandnieces, and dear friend Verna J. Vaghn.

He is preceded in death by; his parents Cruz T. and Arturo Bouvet, his sister Charlotte Lara, and wife Marylou.

Funeral services will take place at St. Sebastian Church, 235 Ninth St., Santa Paula CA. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:15 p.m. A private burial will be held at VA Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside.
