Santa Paula male seeks hospital treatment for gunshots to legs

Ventura County Sheriff’s Investigators are trying to determine what led up to the shooting of a Santa Paula male early Tuesday evening.

The unidentified male showed up at Santa Paula Hospital Emergency Room about 6 p.m. where a friend of the victim had brought him to be treated for two gunshot wounds, one in each leg. 

The victim had been at the hospital about 15 minutes when hospital personnel notified the Santa Paula Police Department and officers responded.

When it was determined that the incident had occurred outside city limits Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified.

The victim of the March 22 attack was transferred to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of the gunshot wounds.

The victim, according to VCSO PIO Sgt. Denise Silva, “Is a Santa Paula resident…he’s not providing many details,” on what occurred.

The investigation she added, “Is in the early stages...”
