Girl Scouts of Tres Condados Regional Ventura Team is adopting the My Stuff® Bags Stuffathon Project, and the Heritage Valley Service Unit (Santa Paula, Fillmore and Piru) is asking for your assistance. The local Service Unit will be collecting 2,500 hats or caps - 1,250 for boys and 1,250 for girls - which will go into My Stuff Bags for abused, neglected, abandoned, and displaced children who often enter crisis shelters with absolutely nothing of their own.Local Girl Scouts are accepting donations of hats or caps as they work to meet the goal of 2,500. Hats can be purchased or handmade, and must be new, non-denominational, non-violent, and fit in a medium sized duffel bag. Company logos are okay, but please, no cigarette or alcohol logos. Suggested items are sports caps, knit caps or floppy hats.
Deadline for accepting donations is January 6, 2006. If you would like to donate hats (or money to purchase hats), please contact Heritage Valley Service Unit Manager Glenda Learn, 525-8566.
