Six retiring from Santa Paula Elementary schools

Come the last day of school six longtime employees will be turning in their keys and interests away from the school sites to pursue new challenges. Combined this group of retirees have dedicated 155 years to the district. From the back, Terry Hill. Hill began his career with the district in the 1965-66 school year. He educated fourth, fifth, and seventh-grade students for 34 years at Blanchard, and one year at Isbell. Jackie Davidson. Davidson started teaching physical education at Isbell Middle School 29 years ago. Avelina Ramirez. Ramirez came to the district in the 1984-85 school year. She taught four years at Blanchard, eight years at Glen City, and four years at Grace Thille. Josephine ``Josie'' Ramirez. Ramirez was hired on September 10, 1970 as a bilingual instructional assistant and later moved into the special education department. Mary James. James came to work on February 24, 1969 as an instructional assistant at Bedell. Joy Reynolds. Reynolds came to work on February 1, 1985 as a cafeteria cook and work her way into a food service manager I position at Glen City School.
