Cardinals get first league title in 14 years!

The Santa Paula High wrestling team won its first league championship in 14 years by defeating Malibu this week 54-34.
The undefeated Cardinals knew, going into the Malibu meet that they needed the win to pin down their Tri-Valley League title.Senior Guillermo Ojeda, wrestling at 189-pounds, won his match with a pin as did another senior, Jessie Villareal in the heavyweight division. Vincent Morales (112-lbs), Ben Bellrose (125-lbs), and Nianna Morris (152-lbs) also took their matches with pins.Chris Vandergeugten (130-lbs) and Marc Prado (140-lbs) both won by decision.
