The girls from Junior Girl Scout Troop 287 went on a fossil hunting expedition up Santa Paula Canyon this year. On this hike they learned about different kinds of rocks and the geology of this area, how to spot an earthquake fault by using geological maps, and even found some fossils. This special hike was lead by a scientist from Thomas Aquinas College, Dr. Carol Day. Dr. Day herself was a Girl Scout when she was growing up.
