Ventura Superior Court names Employee of the Year

Several court employees were honored at the Ventura Superior Court’s annual meeting held on Thursday evening, March 22 at the Hall of Justice in Ventura.

Several court employees were honored at the Ventura Superior Court’s annual meeting held on Thursday evening, March 22 at the Hall of Justice in Ventura. The annual meeting highlights the major accomplishments of the past year, shares the operational plan for this year, and recognizes staff and their special contributions.Court Processing Assistant IV Cesar Camacho was named as the court’s Employee of the Year. Selection for this honor is based on job performance and service to the court.Executive Officer Michael Planet described Camacho as patient, understanding, and professional. “He is never one to take a back seat when coworkers need help or guidance, and he is always available and accessible to colleagues and customers.” He added, “Cesar is a great team player who is respected and well liked by staff and judicial officers.”Camacho is the lead worker for the civil, small claims, family law and records units of the East County Courthouse. He has been with the court for six years.
Chief Technology Officer Pat Patterson and Senior Manager Keri Griffith were honored for their leadership in the deployment of initial modules of the new California Case Management System (CCMS) at the Ventura Superior Court. The new system will bring all superior courts statewide under the same computer system for all case types by 2010. In March of this year, Ventura became the fourth California county to deploy the new system.Members of the court’s California Case Management System business process, training logistics, materials development, testing, conversion and training teams, as well as the court’s Information Technology Unit, received special certificates in recognition of their tireless commitment to making the new system a success. They include Lorraine Benavides, Susan Boyd, Mark Brandl, Aimee Brown, Julie Camacho, Leticia Cisneros, Jag Desham, Julie Doss, Keri Griffith, Joe Gutierrez, Sandi Hatmaker, Susan Howard, Roger Janes, Jim Jenson, Brian Jones, Doug Jones, Arnold Lara, Chris Long, Lisa Lopez, Sharon McCarthy, Ken McElroy, Liz Mesa, Sherril Ornelas, Richard Padilla, Pat Patterson, Danielle Penny, Teresa Rodriguez, Mari Soto, Liz Vallejo, Sarah Waters, Terri White, John Wilson, Robert Ybarra and Peter Zuniga.Judicial Secretary Victoria Borjesson was recognized for her commitment of time and resources to the court’s employee fundraising committee.
