Last Friday’s Ventura County Star announced that Santa Paula residents would soon be without a “Meals on Wheels” program.

Last Friday’s Ventura County Star announced that Santa Paula residents would soon be without a “Meals on Wheels” program. This is an error. Meals on Wheels does currently have a relationship with Ventura County Commission on Nutrition in that they supply meals for Santa Paula. Santa Paula’s program is financially healthy and well supported by the citizens of the city. In the event VCCON closes their doors, Santa Paula “Meals on Wheels” will find a new source for meals and the program will continue. The Meals on Wheels program currently serves 25-30 residents on a daily basis, providing a hot meal and a daily contact. For more information, please call 933-4272.
