Taylor K. Atkins of Piru was crowned Miss Ventura County Teen USA 2007 on June 9 at Pacifica High School in Oxnard. She also received a special overall Academic Award for her 4.3 GPA. Taylor is the daughter of Tamie Chessani of Piru and Todd Atkins of Ventura.
Taylor’s dress for the pageant was purchased from Princess Bridal Boutique in Santa Paula. She had her hair styled at Tisa’s Salon & Spa, Santa Paula.Taylor will be a junior at Fillmore High School, and attends Jill Johnson’s Dance Studio in Santa Paula. She also volunteers at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, and enjoys being involved with many local charities.Runners-up for the teen pageant were Jazmyne Latimer of Oxnard, first; Vanessa Haxton of Ventura, second; Katelynn Vella of Camarillo, third; and Bailey Pina of Fillmore, fourth.
