Ventura County’s only regional food bank has announced “Faith for FOOD Share” Weekend, Friday, September 7th to Sunday, September 9th.
Ventura County’s only regional food bank has announced “Faith for FOOD Share” Weekend, Friday, September 7th to Sunday, September 9th. During the three-day campaign, houses of worship and spiritually based groups and congregations of all faiths are asked to forward offerings to support FOOD Share’s direct hunger services.The dual purpose of “Faith for FOOD Share Weekend” is to raise funds for food, equipment, and food bank operations so we may continue to serve those suffering from hunger in Ventura County. We also wish to raise awareness about hunger services available and how people in need can receive food to sustain their families and loved ones.Those of us working in the field have seen a huge increase in the number of children, seniors and the working poor suffering from hunger. We want our community to know we at FOOD Share are here to assist anyone suffering from hunger and food insecurity, and have programs in place to assist them.
