The Cardinals lost Saturday to the Santa Clarita Wild Cats Gold team 30- 6. The Wild Cats returned the opening kick off for a touchdown and never looked back. The Cardinals were shut down by a sound defensive effort by the Wild Cats, who intercepted two passes, recovered a couple fumbles, and seemed to be starting deep in Cardinal territory most of the afternoon. The Cardinals high powered offense from last week was nowhere to be found Saturday and never threatened to score.Defensively, the Cardinals played well at times, but had to face a disciplined and efficient Wild Cat offense.Daniel Kohr forced two fumbles, and the Cardinals intercepted two passes. The Cardinals only score was on an interception returned by cornerback Mark Shide.
The Cardinals season continues next Saturday, 12 pm. v.s. Santa Clarita White (1-1) at Santa Paula High School.
