Lady Cardinal Softball Team defeats Mailbu 12-9

Talissa Garcia, the Lady Card shortstop, attempts to steal second base during the Santa Paula/Malibu Softball game on Thursday. Garcia was called out on the play. The Cards won 3-1. Janessa Pulido pitched a complete game, with only 3 hits for Malibu. Allowing 1 run in the 4th inning. With 2 runs scored in the 2nd inning and 1 run in the 6th inning, Santa Paula had 11 hits for the game, but with 5 outs on base running and 4 runners left on base Santa Paula fought hard to stay ahead. In the 2nd inning Tylynn Sliger had a triple to center field with Janessa Pulido following with a 3rd base line drive double to score Sliger, Talisa Garcia came up with a double to left field for an RBI. In the 6th inning with Kayla Oviedo on with an error, Rebecca Arreguin hit a single for an RBI for the 3rd run of the game. The Lady Cards are overall 12-9 and 6-0 league.
