Mill St., Santa Paula) from 5 to 9 p.m.From cattle barons and cowpokes to pioneer women and saloon gals, all “fun-slingers” are invited to claim a stake in a unique fundraiser when the nonprofit Santa Clara Valley Hospice/Home Support Group opens the doors to the Old West.The only end of the evening Live Auction item is a winner: a visit to the Old West’s Panguitch Lake, Utah, where the lucky top bidder and a guest will enjoy three days and two nights in their own private cabin overlooking the glorious lake, whose Native American name means “Big Fish.”The lucky winners - who must arrange their own transportation to enjoy the week of August 24 only prize - each day will be served three gourmet meals and snacks prepared by Susan Dollar, famous in the Santa Clara River Valley - and Utah - for her cooking!A fly-fishing instructor will supply all equipment and insider tips on how best to land the big ones as you spend each day on a private boat.
