Girls’ varsity tops Carpinteria 49-40

The Lady Cardinals won a hard fought game, outscoring Carpinteria 24-17 in second half to secure the 49-40 victory.

“The Lady Cards played extremely well on the defensive end, never giving up with lots of hustle and composure down the stretch,” said Coach Mark Blankenship. He said Ciara Ramirez, Felicia Magana and Yesenia Mancilla played extremely hard in containing Carps point guard

Leading the way were: Lizzette Ramirez, 12 points, 2 rebounds; Yesenia Mancilla, 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, 5 assists; Elissa Rico, 8 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks; Danya Zizumbo, 8 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal; Felicia Magana, 8 points, 1 rebound.

The Lady Cards Overall record is 7-10, Frontier League 3-1.
