Staff-student basketball game brings out a crowd

The Cardinal Track team had a unique fundraiser last Thursday. They put on a staff-versus student basketball game. The staff team came from behind in the fourth quarter to with by two points.

One of the heroes of the game was SPHS teacher and boys’ soccer coach Brian Blevins (photo far left).  (Above right photo) Girls’ varsity basketball coach Mark Blankenship (center) tries to go up with a shot but is fouled by JV player Sarah Jordan. Boys’ varsity coach David Urias (center photo) didn’t have a lot of playing time, but his players seemed to enjoy cutting him off.

There was a good turnout for the event, but it’s not yet known how much money was brought in.
