Rosalinda (Rosie) Ruiz

Rosalinda (Rosie) Ruiz, loving daughter, sister and aunt, age 27, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011 surrounded by her loving family, after a prolonged and difficult illness. Rosie was born to Manuel and Frances Ruiz on June 28, 1983, and resided in Santa Paula throughout her youth before moving to Arizona and subsequently to Apple Valley, CA.

Our baby sister had a contagious smile and a heart of gold. Family was first and foremost in her life, and she would do anything for those she loved.

Her passion in life was cooking and baking, and she was known to wake up in the early a.m. and start cooking enchiladas, tacos, or whatever she felt like having. The Food Network was her favorite show and inspired her to try new recipes.

Her love for animals included her dog Sasha and a collection of various frogs. Outside interests included her active membership with the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include her parents, Manuel and Frances Ruiz of Apple Valley; siblings Armida (Virgil) Murphy of  Apple Valley, Manuel III (Arleen) Ruiz and Richard Ruiz of Santa Paula;  Terry (Martin) Rojo of  Phoenix,  Arizona; four nephews, Manuel, Virgil Jr., Michael, and Richard; and three nieces,   Jessica,   Ashley, and Brianna. Rosie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Augustine and Amelia Ramirez; paternal grandparents Manuel Ruiz Sr. and Mary Salazar; aunt Avelina Villalobos; and Nino Manuel Hinojosa.

A funeral mass honoring Rosalinda’s life will be held at St. Sebastian Church, 235 N. 9th St., Santa Paula, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, and burial will follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to St. Mary’s Medical Center and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for their outstanding care and support during her extended illness.

Rosie, we share something special each and every day, a feeling in our souls that words alone  cannot  say… you  are  forever in our hearts!
