Cardinal varsity overwhelms Fillmore Flashes last week

The Cardinal varsity overwhelmed the visiting Fillmore Flashes 12-1 in last Wednesday’s game.
Santa Paula now holds a 4-3 record in the Frontier League and 7-6 overall. Tony Penuelas was on the mound for the Cards. He only gave up two hits and had 12 strikeouts. This puts him at 3-1 for the season. The Cardinals scored 1 run in the first inning, 8 in the second, 1 in the fifth and 2 in the sixth. They recorded nine hits and no errors.
The top hitters for this contest were; Justin Barron, 2-3 with 2 RBIs; Steven Kohr, 2-3; Gabriel Carrera, 2-2 with 2 RBIs and Gabriel Diaz, 2-4 with 2 RBIs.
The JV won over Fillmore last week, 3-1.

Santa Paula wins 13-6. Tony penuelas got the win in relief he is 4-1. SPscored 3 in 3rd,1 in the 4th,5th, and 6th, 7 in the 4th. Santa Paula had 15 hits 3 errors. Top hitters are Justin Macias 3-5 2- 3RBi ,Tony Penuelas 2-3 2 RBi, Ramiro Avila 3-5 and Richard macias 2-3 2RBi.
SP is 8-6 (5-3). Justin macias was the starter.
