SPESD board honors Grace Thille School

Grace Thille Elementary School, chosen to receive the National Blue Ribbon Award for 2011, has been recognized by the Santa Paula Elementary School Board. Attending the board meeting were (l-r):  Teachers Gerry Saucedo, Inez Blanco, Joel Stern, Adriana Gonzalez and Terri Bruketta, Principal Mary Fennell, SPESD Superintendent Dr. Paul Chounet, and retired principal Frances Contreras.

Grace Thille is one of 20 schools statewide and 300 schools in the nation to receive this honor this year. Fennell, Contreras and Bruketta will be going to Washington, D.C. next month to receive this distinguished award.
