Students paint-out graffiti in Santa Paula

On July 28th the Santa Paula Lions Club along with the St. Bonaventure High School Leos Club participated in a graffiti paint out. Students from St. Bonaventure arrived early in Santa Paula and grabbed rollers and paint and began painting out graffiti east of 12th Street along the railroad corridor. Participating were: Carlos Alvarado, Regina Araiza, Ryan Arazia, April Bautista, Ashley Hernandez, Kelly Mazurek, Laurel McFadden, Rachel Pleis, Casey Romero, Will Schulze, Lisette Torres. Santa Paula Lions members assisting were John Dunn, Richard Garcia, and Claude Parrish. City of Santa Paula employee Robert Howard coordinated the project.The group used 25 gallons of paint and worked over two hours to accomplish the task.Following the paint-out a barbecue was held for everyone participating. Lions Club President Wayne Johnson along with his wife Glenda were the host and hostess. Helping with the barbecue were Lions members Don Snyder, Maggie Snyder, Rod Baehr, Richard Garcia, Norma Henderson, Orven Hillestad and Claude Parrish.
