Halos to make Santa Paula their home field

Santa Paula resident Chris Gomez, the Owner/General Manager of the SoCal Halos has announced that he is bringing one of his Halos teams to Santa Paula and renaming the college team that is playing in the California Collegiate League to the Santa Paula Halos.
The Santa Paula Halos will be comprised up of 4-year college players that will compete in one of the toughest college summer leagues in the country, the CCL. This year’s roster will be filled with college players from Ventura County, as well as players from around the country who will be calling Santa Paula their home for the summer.
The CCL has two of the most storied summer programs in the country in the two-time defending NBC National Champion Santa Barbara Foresters and the San Luis Obispo Blues. Also in the north division will be the Conejo Oaks. The CCL will also have four teams from down south.
Last years’ Halo team won the Central Coast Championship and were very competitive with teams from the CCL in their non-league games. Jimmy Walker will manage the team with assistants Steve Hardisy and Jake Regalado.
Gomez said that this was all made possible with the help of his partner with the SoCal Halos and current president of the Foresters, Bill Pintard and current Los Angeles Angels Manager Mike Scioscia. He also like to acknowledges the support he got from the Conejo Oaks team and their group ABDG. Serving as Vice President of the Halos is Jimmy Walker and Secretary Treasurer is Ron Araiza. The Board of Directors includes Santa Paula Baseball legend Jim Colborn, along with Jason Silva and Joe Tehan. Camarillo resident Chris McKee will be in charge of marketing.
The Halos will be playing their home games at newly renovated Tom Moore Field at Harding Park. The Halos are looking for host families for the summer. For more information please visit www.santapaulahalos.com
