Rodriguez said she is very excited to be going to Western Texas. She plans to major in kinesiology and hopes to become a physical therapist, specializing in sports injuries.

Lady Cardinal catcher Andrea Rodriguez, named to the CIF Southern Section, Division Six softball team this year, has signed with Western Texas College, with a full scholarship.
Rodriguez had earlier been named All Frontier League Most Valuable Player as well as to the Frontier League First Team. She and her team made it to the semifinal round of the CIF playoffs this year.
Claudia Berumen, whose twin sister Carla coaches the Lady Cards, is an assistant coach at Western Texas. They both graduated in 2001. She said that the college is in a very competitive conference. Western Texas finished in the middle of the conference this year.
