Forms will be available at each stop and you can plan your own route, but if you like you can start at Santa Paula Salsa Company (820 Railroad Ave.) for a sample of a limited selection of salsas. You’ll also get a 20 percent discount on all purchases including the wide array of edibles (gourmet mustards, sauces, pickles, marinades and more!) as well asdecorative and practical items with an emphasis on food and cooking.
Then you can stroll east to The Best of VC Marketplace featuring gourmet foods, local products, jewelry by Devon Designs, books by local authors, gifts-including lots of fashion accessories-and more at the shop, located inside the Agriculture Museum (926 Railroad Ave.).
Continue east to 10th Street, cross and turn right: at the Santa Paula Art Museum Gift Store (117 N. 10th St.) you’ll see art, accessories, books, scarves and home décor while at the neighboring California Oil Museum shop (1101 E. Main St.) there are dozens of stocking stuffers and super-but unexpectedly educational-gifts for kids.
Right across the street is The Arc of Heritage Valley (116 N. 10th St.) where Santa will be visiting with kids and offering photo ops; a free Gift Wrapping Station will be available and you’ll want to visit the Santa Paula Relay for Life Holiday Boutique benefiting the April 26-27 American Cancer Society fundraiser. The stop does not count towards the day’s prize drawings.
“We’re really hoping that many stop by to meet Santa and get their gifts wrapped for free,” said Wood.
When you leave The Arc, head south and turn right onto Main Street and then right again on Mill Street to Remnant’s on Mill (110 N. Mill St.) where the unique merchandise-collectibles, antiques, modern “industrial lamps” and more!-are ready to be admired in the multi-roomed store.
When you leave head back to Main Street and turn right until you come to Be Loved Florist (915 E. Main St.) where you’ll be able to get $5 off a holiday arrangement or centerpiece! Bee Loved has poinsettias in a rainbow of colors (including white and pink!), fresh flowers, an array of local honeys and candles and Naked Bee beauty products.
A special room is reserved as the home of SuzCreates, a mind-boggling multi-media art studio offering ceramic pottery, jewelry design, painting and information on adult and children’s art classes offered by owner Suzanne Tummarello.
With all that looking, buying and strolling it will be time for a refreshing frozen yogurt, salad bar, smoothie or coffee at Fria located directly across the street at 900 E. Main St. You’ll be able to enjoy a healthy salad followed by a modest low-fat or sinfully all there yogurt where you’ll add your own toppings.
Once done you’ll be able to drop off your entry form for the 3:45 p.m. drawing.... and if you did your merchant visits earlier in the day rest assured you can still win a prize; winners don’t have to be present to win!
