Margaret S. "Nana" Rivera Margaret S. "Nana" Rivera died at her Ventura home on October 6, 1999 after a long illness.She was born November 23, 1910 in Lake Elsinore. She attended Moorpark High School and received her nursing degree from the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. She worked at County Medical Center, St. John's Hospital and at Camarillo State Hospital until her retirement in 1975.She was a longtime Oxnard and Santa Paula resident before moving to Ventura to be closer to her daughter.Nana was preceded in death by her husband, Frank X. Rivera, and her daughter, Chickie Gajefski.She is survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Kirk (husband Wayne), Luke Gajefski (wife Tonia), and Lynette Weston (husband Eric), and great grandchildren Jack "JW" Kirk, Danielle Kirk, Nicholas Gajefski and Holly Gajefski, all of Ventura. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn McHale of Spokane, Washington, and her children.
Funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura on October 8, with burial following at Santa Clara Cemetery."Words cannot express my sincere thanks to her wonderful caregivers who helped me take care of her with such love and patience with me. I could not have done it without all of you and I hope you know how much I appreciate all of your help. May God bless all of you: Regina Robles, Juanita Robles, Vicki Stiffler, Eva Shepard, Maggie Camacho and Viola Michalczyk.
