Dorothy Vincent Bedford Reynolds Dorothy Vincent Bedford Reynolds, age 89, of Santa Paula, passed away on October 11, 1999 in Ventura.Dorothy was born in Middletown, New York May 2, 1910. She moved to Long Beach in 1940, and to Santa Paula in 1976. A member of the Presbyterian Church in Santa Paula, she served as deacon and sang in the church choir for several years.She was active in the Girl Scout movement with the Los Angeles council for 12 years, during which time she trained Girl Scout leaders and was an instructor in Girl Scout songs and dances. She organized a Girl Scout Brownie Troop, #827, and carried the girls all the way through Senior Girl Scouts. Invited to write on men in the Girl Scout movement, she had an article published in the Girl Scout Leader magazine. She received the "Thank You" award, the highest honor to a leader in Girl Scouting.In Santa Paula Dorothy was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary for many years, a trainer of the Pink Ladies, vice president of the Auxiliary Board, and program chair. She was also a sustaining member of the Auxiliary.For several years she was a volunteer worker in the Blanchard Library. She was also active in the F.L.A.I.R. literacy program. She worked for many years as a legal secretary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gardner L. Reynolds, who she married in 1927. She is survived by daughter Lynne R. Madden, and her sister Margaret Bedford of Camarillo.Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, Santa Paula.
