Sunday, June 2, is the First Sunday of the Month. The Santa Paula Airport and Aviation Museum of Santa Paula will have a traditional display of antique, classic, and experimental aircraft plus many other unique and unusual vehicles. As an added bonus, the Tri-County Mustang Club will exhibit their vehicles.

As an added bonus, the Tri-County Mustang Club will exhibit their vehicles.Museum Hangar #1 and our unique Chain of Hangars will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Docent led or self-guided tours are available. The Museum Shuttle tram will be available for those who would rather ride than walk to the Chain of Hangars. Please check at the Gift Tent next to Logsdon’s Restaurant for the schedule. At our Gift Tent we have aviation toys, caps, shirts, and lots of other goodies. No admission, donations welcome. Cancel if rain.Carrie Dishion will also be available with her “magic machine” to embroider and personalize items. The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has a program called the Young Eagles Program. EAA members are trying to give one million young people between the ages of 8 and 17 an airplane ride as an introduction to a career in aviation. The program is worldwide and has passed the half million mark to date. The goal is to reach one million youth by 2003, the 100th anniversary of aviation. Neil Fowler is in charge and can be reached at 647-6994 for information and reservations. Pilots donate their time and efforts for this program and it is available at the Santa Paula Airport during the Aviation Museum of Santa Paula’s First Sunday at the Airport event each month. Everyone is invited to attend! This month we are featuring Mr. Charles Miller of the Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) based at Camarillo Airport. He will be talking about the history of the CAF, specifically the Southern California Wing and their restoration and preservation of aircraft such as the Grumman F-8-F Bearcat and the F-6 Hellcat. As usual, there is no charge and it is not necessary to be a museum member or a pilot to come to the program. For more information please call the Museum office at (805) 525-1109.
