Obituary

Edward J. Zakrajshek Edward J. Zakrajshek, age 76, of Santa Paula, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 in Ventura following a long illness. He was born October 25, 1925 in Sartell, Minnesota, and was a county resident for 55 years.Mr. Zakrajshek was an HVAC contractor and owned Flo-Air Heating & Air Conditioning for 35 years. He was a member of the V.F.W., Oddfellows, Optimist Club, Knights of Columbus and the Fleet Reserve. He served his country for 20 plus years in the U.S. Navy serving actively in World War II and Korea.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Flo; sons, Edmund and Frank; daughter Cindi Smith; daughter-in-law Norma Hernandez Zakrajshek; son-in-law Sean Smith; his nephew Danny Gawenda who has been with him for 42 years and was a Vietnam Veteran since 1969; grandchildren, Kenneth Zakrajshek, Jennifer Zakrajshek Jeffries (Chris), Chelsa Lovering, Abigail Smith, and Evan and Logan Hernandez Zakrajshek; beloved son-in-law Bill Lovering; sisters, Maryann Thielman of Ankeny, Iowa and Helen Westphal of St. Paul, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.Services were held September 24 at Veterans Park in Santa Paula, with members of the V.F.W. officiating.
