United Water’s GM receives water leadership award

Dana Wisehart, general manager of United Water Conservation District (UWCD), was surprised and delighted to accept the Association of Water Agencies (AWA) of Ventura County’s Annual Water Leadership Award in September. AWA officials presented the award to Ms. Wisehart at their annual “Member and Elected Officials Reception”, held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. The prestigious award is presented each September to an outstanding member of the community in recognition of their significant contributions to the present and future water resources of Ventura County.AWA members submit nominations that are reviewed by an award selection committee comprised of AWA members, directors and officers. The identity of the award recipient is kept confidential until the evening of the event.“Since assuming her responsibilities as general manager in 2000, Ms. Wisehart has demonstrated her outstanding ability to work cohesively with local agencies and constituents for the benefit of all Ventura County citizens”, stated Sheldon Berger, longtime UWCD board member and current vice president of the board.
Ms. Wisehart is credited with strengthening relationships and boosting the confidence of the District’s constituents and other water agencies in the County. She joins the rank of distinguished AWA Annual Water Leadership Award recipients, which include Senator Cathie Wright, Supervisor Judy Mikels, Congressman Elton Gallegly, Don Kendall of Calleguas Municipal Water District (CMWD), Stacy Roscoe of Procter & Gamble, Ted Grandsen of CMWD, and Richard Hajas of Camrosa Water District.
